How the pay-as-you-go plan works

What is pay-as-you-go?

Pay-as-you-go is a fair and convenient billing model that allows users of Cloud4Y services to pay only for the resources used by virtual machines at any given time.

Why use pay-as-you-go instead of allocation Pool?

With Pay-as-you-go you only pay for the resources used by your virtual machines. With Allocation Pool, you pay for a set amount of resources whether you use them or not.

How to switch to pay-as-you-go?

Pay-as-you-go is available free of charge to all Cloud4Y customers who have signed a contract with us.

How can I understand what is currently billed and what is not?

Billing of resources consumed is done on an hourly basis. Billing checks whether virtual machines are switched on or off, whether virtual machine parameters have been changed and records the fact of consumption. Virtual cores (vCPU) and RAM (vRAM) have a peculiarity - if a virtual machine is switched off, the accounting for these resources is zero, and therefore 0 rubles are charged. As for disc space, you will be charged only for the gigabytes allocated to your virtual machine(s). Since the information on the discs is stored permanently, the status of the virtual machine does not affect the cost, the same is true for IP addresses and space for backups.

You may also need to temporarily increase the capacity of the virtual server and then reduce it again. In this case, the billing will take into account both the increase and the decrease of the consumption level, which will allow you to save money.

How can I find out the amount of resources I have used in a month?

At the beginning of each month, you will receive a statement showing the total amount of resources used, as well as an invoice to pay for the services.

What happens if I accidentally increase the parameters of my server? Will I receive an invoice?

You can change the amount of resources using the Cloud Control Panel, which prevents accidental button clicks. If you are worried about this happening, we can set certain limits for added resources, which you can only increase after contacting Cloud4Y technical support.

Can I choose another payment system instead of pay-as-you-go?

Sure. If for some reason pay-as-you-go is not suitable for you, you can contact your Personal Manager to discuss another payment system, such as Allocation Pool or Prepayment.
